Candida (CD-1) was the first cannabis strain created by Medical Marijuana Genetics, it was inspired by and named after a founder's late mother who benefited from cannabis oil during ill health.
Candida (CD-1) has broken the mould with its incredibly high CBD content, reaching between 10.6% and 20.6%, opposed to its extremely low THC level, which is always beneath 1%, this eliminates the psychoactive effects that you would find in the majority of cannabis plants.
Making history as the pioneer CBD dominant strain has understandably made it stand out and be noticed, in 2017 it was awarded with 2nd place in the Spannabis Champions cup, CBD category.
It is an uncomplicated plant to grow, they thrive indoors or outdoors in all environments, flourishing early and flowering in as little as 9 weeks, while giving a fresh clean lemon scent which is mirrored in its flavour.
However, Candida does produce two different phenotypes, an Indica and a Sativa. The Sativa does produce a higher CBD count, although with a lower yield, also giving a larger distance between internodes making it less protected. This would be more suited to extractions rather than for smoking or vaping. The Indica has a lower CBD level, yet still a significant amount, and will produce larger, more compact yields, suitable for all methods of intake.
Candida (CD-1) is recommended for a number of medical conditions, including: ADD/ADHD, Anorexia, Anxiety, Autism, Depression, Epilepsy, Inflammation, Seizures and Stress.
